Your daily prompts for March 2025: Springtime
The arrival of March means the arrival of spring — HURRAY! I don’t know about you but I am relieved to be welcoming this new season after the long winter.
There’s so much joy and hope to be found this month, from the changes in nature to the sense of renewal that’s in the air…and we’re going to harness it in our journaling practice. I really hope you enjoy it! 🌱
A few things to remember:
Some of the prompts are lighthearted and playful, and others encourage you to take a bit of a deeper dive — but it’s entirely up to you how long you’d like to spend on each. They’re designed for you to be able to take as much or as little time as you like.
Likewise, it’s completely up to you whether you’d like to complete the journals prompt everyday or just pick and choose the ones that speak to you the most. Do what feels good to do. If daily journaling feels unrealistic or pressured, then please don’t feel that you have to. Even journaling a couple of times a week can bring amazing benefits to your wellbeing and mindset!
Most of the prompts here are designed for you to explore with writing, unless otherwise stated. But please feel free to adapt them if you’d rather draw or collage or use any other creative techniques!
Tip — each time you want to get to these prompts you can log in to the Members area and head to this page (I’d recommended bookmarking it for quick access) or if you’d like to be able to access them offline, you could copy & paste all the prompts and save them in your notes app on your phone, or print them out on a piece of paper at the start of the month. Your choice, of course!
Lastly, I’m here to support you so please just send me an email on hannah@journalforjoy.co.uk if you have any questions at any point.
Happy journaling,
Hannah x

1. How do you want this springtime season to FEEL? Bearing this in mind, brainstorm ways that you can cultivate that feeling between now and the beginning of spring (on March 20th).
2. Did you learn anything new about yourself this winter? Spend some time reflecting on this.
3. List your top 10 springtime activities! Tap into the feelings of excitement for what’s ahead, as you write.
4. What is something that you want to leave behind in winter, in order to make way for more joy in spring?
5. Imagine you are a seedling, pushing through the soil for the first time. Write about what the experience is like.
6. Choose a window in your home. Study the view for a few minutes and look for early signs of spring (even subtle ones!). Write down or draw anything you noticed.
7. Find somewhere in your local area that you are yet to visit (outdoors, ideally). Do some research and write a little plan for how you can explore that place this spring.

9. I promise to give myself ____________ this spring.
10. Draw or paint an imaginary butterfly, making its wings as colourful and elaborate as you like!
11. Divide your page into five sections. Write a heading in each section with the senses sight, sound, smell, touch and taste. Now list your springtime favourites under each heading! I.e. sound might include hearing the birds singing in the morning, taste might include hot cross buns.

20. In light of the spring equinox, where we have the same amount of daytime and nighttime hours, free-write the answers to these questions: Where am I craving more balance in my life? How can I achieve a better balance?
21. Write a welcome letter to springtime to officially mark its arrival!
22. Write a series of positive affirmations to help you make the most of the new season.
23. Visit a local garden and take your journal. Sit somewhere with a beautiful view and create something inspired by it (a poem or a drawing, perhaps).
24. List at least three ways you can make the most of the lighter mornings and/or evenings this week.

30. Design a Mothers Day card for Mother Nature. Write a special thank you message to go on the inside.
31. Are there any new goals, stirring inside you? Allowing yourself to dream by exploring them in your journal via free-writing, drawing or a making a vision board.
